Don is a chartered electrical engineer with over twenty-five years of electrical engineering experience across a number of different industries. He has been a practicing electrical engineer since graduating from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa in 1979. During this period, he has worked in engineering and management positions in a number of organisations in South Africa, the UK and Australia. Don joined Power Control Engineers (PCE) in 2010 as a lead Electrical engineer. For eight years prior to this, he was employed by WorleyParsons in Newcastle as a senior electrical engineer. Most of this period was spent at the Hunter’s two Aluminium smelters, first at Tomago and then at Hydro Aluminium. Earlier career experience was centred on the Chemical Industry including AECI South Africa, ICI plc (UK) and ICI Australia Botany Operations.
